Well Jetting

Jetting is a rapid method for well construction that works by flushing a well screen into a shallow aquifer. This way, large numbers of shallow wells can be produced extremely quickly and for a very low cost. Jetting is usually limited to a depth of about 8 metres and works well in unconsolidated sediments such as sandy soils found in alluvial areas.

BushProof carries out jetting programmes around the world, and also provides on-site training to enable organisations to do the work themselves.

BushProof staff has obtained excellent results in recent emergencies, including Sudan (Darfur), Sri Lanka (tsunami) and Madagascar (cyclone), where hundreds of new wells were produced, sometimes at a rate of 50 per week. This proves that well jetting can be an effective mitigation strategy in circumstances where an outbreak of water borne disease should be avoided.

Jetting is also suitable for producing seawater intakes, for instance for aquaria, marine research centres, swimming pools or air conditioning.
