Pico-hydro - family-sized electricity generation

BushProof is currently interested in the potential for small pico-hydro units in Madagascar. These are small, household-sized hydro generators that are easily installed in small rivers, streams, or in-line with gravity fed water systems.

These units could be used to charge batteries and telephones and could potentially power ultraviolet (UV) treatment lamps or small chlorine-generating treatment technologies. Income from these activities could be leveraged to pay for maintenance of water infrastructure where incentive is lacking or absent.
